Cisco is not as utility as you thought

Many people participated in Cisco certification exams, with the unrealistic expectations, but they usually finished with the frustration. Before the certification exam, a fair number of candidates have the following expectations:

• Others certification is the only way to get a job successfully in the IT industry;
• Others certification is my golden key to success;
• Achieving Others certification, I will obtain the job I have dreamed;
• Others is the rule of IT industry;
• The Others certification is a big gold mine, etc.

Are these true? Perhaps unrealistic expectations are caused by misinterpretations.

In fact, certification exams such as Cisco 650-180 is to test the candidates’ knowledge about some software, logic and the ability to solve the problem, however, virtually all the clients and employees expect rich experience and skills from you. You know that certification exams can not increase your work experience. The bosses never gives salary because of a paper of certificate; they desire employee's efficient work. Not only do you have the ability to perform any work assigned by the company should also finish the work in the high level at the specified time and budget.

In addition, the exam of 650-180 mainly concerns the technical skills, but it is impossible only to depend on the skills to succeed in the IT industry. That means other abilities, including interpersonal relationship, negotiation skills and teamwork, are not less important than skills for success in IT industry.

All in all, you should have a clear idea in your mind and then go for the test, with the sufficent time and resources to complete it. There is no harm for you in getting more useful experiences from media, Internet, and even your superiors.
